CLIENT : CNIM - Projet ITER
"Joggle tool + tilting tool" equipment
Project: To design the “JOGGLE TOOL + TILTING TOOL” system to form conductors for the ends of the ITER poloidal-field coils (PF)
Aims and characteristics:
- To produce the “JOGGLE TOOL” and “TILTING TOOL” tool support – mechanically welded structures designed to accommodate the “JOGGLE TOOL” (4.5 t) in two positions: S1 (“normal” tool) and S2 (“turned” tool) via retrofitting
- To consider that in each position, the “JOGGLE TOOL” tool should be able to fold the conductor and disengage itself, allowing for transfers to be made along X and Y axes, and a rotation around Z (upwards along the vertical axis)
- To provide for the handling of 4.5 tonnes of equipment in rotation, with an angle of +/- 0.015° and in independent longitudinal and lateral transfers in steps of +/- 0.5 mm, with a stroke of 100 mm
- To assign a project engineer to ensure monitoring and documentation; a research manager; a technical manager; two qualified sheet metal workers; two qualified welders; a workshop manager; two qualified fitters; and a site team
